I've never been a fan of giving things up for my new year's resolution.  I've always preferred doing something to better myself instead.  

So what are you doing in the New Year?

Maybe you want to learn a new skill.  Matt Hennager is offering free guitar classes are being offered at Summerlin and Green Valley Libraries.  The International Tennis Centere offers Women's Clinics.

If you want to get fit, try out Stroller Exercise or Cardio Tennis.  Or get your kids involved with Kids Yoga Fun.  Limitless Tae Kwon Do offers classes for $10 per person, adults and kids at the same time.  If you just want to watch some exercise, maybe Baby Gym classes are more your speed.

Or are you interested in getting more involved in the Las Vegas art and culture scene.  Have you visited First Friday?  Enterprise Library is hosting "Dr. Jean presents And the Beat Goes On".  If dance is more your thing, you can watch or join the Ethnic Folk Dancers.

Maybe you want to try cooking and eating locally.  Check out the Valley's many Farmers Markets.  Thursdays and Fridays you'll find Farmers Markets in Henderson.  Tuesdays and Wednesdays you'll find Farmers Markets in Las Vegas.  Or try bountifulbaskets.org  You have to order on Mondays and pick up on Saturdays.

There are so many great family friendly events happening in the valley every day.  I hope you can fit some into your family's schedule.
